The House League Schedule has been Released
Submitted By SMLA on Sunday, April 14, 2019

The house league schedule for 2019 has been released.

Please visit your team site and view your schedule.  Please keep in mind it was a fairly challenging task for everyone involved.  Due to holidays and other community obligations the schedule will vary slightly week to week, so please pay close attention and subscribe to the calendar.

Coaches - we still require coaches and staff to assist with the following teams;
Paperweight
Tyke/Novice - Black
Novice/Peewee - White
Bantam Black
Bantam Gold

Without volunteers it will be difficult for teams to participate and develop this year.  SMLA realizes LAX is new to many people in the Strathroy area, so we are hosting a free coaching clinic to anyone who is interested in coaching or assisting.  The clinic is on Wednesday, April 17th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  It will be very practical and very casual.  Dan Candy will be running our Bantam Rep boys through multiple drills and game play scenarios that will include the rules and strategies of box lacrosse.  Coaches will be able to apply what they learn from the clinic to any age group and experience level.  It will be a great learning opportunity and a fun evening for everyone involved.  SMLA can also provide younger experienced lacrosse players to help supplement and assist any of our new coaches. Kyle Vaugh is the Bantam Boys Rep coach and can assist with both bantam HL practices.  He will also be looking to AP players interested in playing competitive lacrosse with our Bantam Rep team this year.  However, each team will still need a coaching staff.

Additional coaching resources can be found at the following OLA website;  https://ontariolacrosse.com/coaching.  There are no special certifications or requirements to coach at the HL level. Coaches only need to complete a Police Check.

If interested in attending the clinic or volunteering as a coach please contact our Registrar at [email protected] Lets all help make lacrosse a success in Strathroy.
