SMLA Refund Policy
OLA Administration Fee
When a player registers through the Sportzsoft App, the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) collects a $30 administration fee, which is non-refundable once payment is made. As a result, any cancellation of SMLA registration will incur a $30 administrative fee, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
General Refunds
- Full Refunds (minus OLA Admin Fee): If there are insufficient players to form full teams, or if a player is released from a Competitive Team, a full refund will be issued (100% of the registration fee minus the $30 OLA Admin Fee). Released players may be given the option to join a House League team (if available).
- Refund Deadline: Full refunds will be accepted up to two (2) weeks after the season starts for Competitive Teams, and one (1) week after the season starts for House League Teams.
Injury-Related Refunds
- Competitive Teams: If a player is injured within the first four (4) weeks of the Competitive Lacrosse Season, they are eligible for a 50% refund of their registration fee (minus the $30 OLA Admin Fee).
- House League Teams: If a player is injured within the first two (2) weeks of the House League Season, they are eligible for a 50% refund (minus the $30 OLA Admin Fee).
Permanent Release Due to Code of Conduct Violations:
If a player is permanently released from the Strathroy Minor Lacrosse Association (SMLA) due to a parent/guardian’s failure to comply with the Code of Conduct, a refund may be issued in accordance with the standard SMLA Refund Policy. The amount refunded will reflect the timing of the release and any costs already incurred by the association, including but not limited to insurance, registration fees, and team expenses. All such refunds are subject to approval by the SMLA Board and are not guaranteed.
Season Start Date
The season officially begins after each team's first practice.
