OLA Cancels the 2020 Lacrosse Season
On June 12th, at 1700 the Ontario Lacrosse Association officially cancelled the 2020 season due to Covid - 19 and the related safety concerns. It is the first time in over 120 years there will be no lacrosse in the Province of Ontario. We are deeply disappointed to make this announcement. As a brand new association many volunteers have spent countless hours bringing lacrosse to the Strathroy area. This is our second season in existence and our registration numbers increased significantly. SMLA truly believes lacrosse has a home in Strathroy. We hope to build on the momentum and interest for next year. The Screaming Eagles will be back in 2021. Please stay tuned as we may offer camps an other programs moving forward into next spring.

Please be patient with us as we now have to process numerous refunds. More details regarding the refunds will be announced over the next week.

Currently when players register through the Sportzsoft portal, the OLA and associated stake holders charge an admin fee for each player
.  We are currently negotiating with the OLA to have those funds returned to each association.  However, the SMLA may need to withhold a small admin fee to cover those funds.

Please visit the OLA web site for their official response.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our lacrosse family.  Please take care and be safe. We hope to see everyone back in 2021.
